Mit erhobener Faust
Political resistance and protest is not only linked to content, but also to signs and images. The demonstrations, protests, and political upheavals of recent years can often be understood as large-scale performances in which individual artifacts or a collage of iconographic images, signs, speeches, and demands form the lasting narrative of the events.
Based on the Serbian revolution of 2000, this study defines, documents, and evaluates the aesthetics of political protest and the inscenation of resistance as elements of protest.
